Bookkeeping, Tax & Advisory
Working Together

Good business decisions start with good numbers. BATS brings bookkeeping, tax preparation, tax planning, and advisory together so each part supports the next.

Business & Individual Tax Services

Tax preparation should do more than report what already happened. BATS prepares business and individual tax returns and helps clients identify tax issues and planning opportunities before they become surprises.

Business Advisory Services

Better numbers create better questions. BATS works with business owners on tax planning, entity decisions, financial performance, cash flow, and the decisions that affect where the business goes next.

Accounting for Small and Growing Service Businesses

We work best with small and growing service businesses, including contractors and trades, consultants and agencies, healthcare practices, real estate and property businesses, and auto and repair shops. We work with owners who want an accounting team that understands their business, thinks ahead, and explains the numbers in plain English.

You want clean books without hiring a full time bookkeeper.

You're ready for year round tax strategy, not just tax prep

once a year.

You want an accountant who explains things in plain English.

You're building something and want an accounting team that can grow with you.

Personal Service. Modern Technology.

Belshaw Accounting is a virtual first accounting firm. Clients can meet with us by phone, Zoom, or in person in Holiday when appropriate. Accounting, tax work, records, and documents are handled securely online through our TaxDome client portal.

We use secure online systems, multi factor authentication, and a Written Information Security Plan, or WISP, to help protect sensitive client information. TaxDome gives clients one secure place for document exchange, communication, electronic signatures, and other client workflows.

Your Business Should Not Feel Like a Guessing Game.

Messy Books

Uncategorized transactions, unreconciled accounts, personal expenses, and outdated financial reports can make it difficult to know how your business is really performing.

Behind on your books? No lecture. No shame. We can help you get caught up and move forward.

Could your bookkeeping be costing you money?

Twelve things we look at when we open a set of books for the first time. Go through them yourself and you'll know whether your books are in decent shape or whether something needs attention. Works whether you're on Xero or QuickBooks.

How We Actually Think

01. The One We lead With

Look out the windshield, not the rearview mirror.

Your past numbers tell a story, but they don't run your business. Your next decisions do. Forward focus is the only focus that pays.

11.

I don't mind surprises. I just don't like bad ones.

A big tax bill you didn't see coming isn't a tax problem. It's a planning problem. Our job is to make sure you're never blindsided. Good surprises only.

24.

Your numbers have to tell a story.

A pile of figures means nothing until it means something. We translate your financials into a clear narrative about where you've been, where you are, and where you're headed.

Plain spoken wisdom shaped by decades of experience.

There are more where those came from.
